International Conference on "Corruption Democracy and Human Rights" at EUI, Florence on 20-21 June [Submit by 26 Feb]

The Portsmouth Law School at the University of Portsmouth and the European University Institute (EUI) are organising a 2-day international conference on "Corruption Democracy and Human Rights: Exploring new avenues in the fight against corruption". The conference will be hosted by the EUI in Florence on 20th and 21st of June 2019.

The purpose of the conference is to investigate the legal nexus between corruption, democracy deficits and human rights in the European and global legal orders and to explore new approaches in the fight against corruption that could complement the current legal framework and render it more effective.

Professor Anne Peters, Director of the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law, Heidelberg.
Professor Mark Pieth, Professor of Criminal Law and Criminology at the University of Basel.

CONFERENCE ORGANISERS

Dr Marnie Lovejoy, Senior Lecturer, University of Portsmouth.

CALL FOR PAPERS
Interested participants should submit an abstract of no more than 500 words to [email protected]

The deadline for submission of abstracts is 26th February 2019.
All abstracts will be reviewed by the conveners and selections will be announced by 31st March 2019. Full papers of no more than 10000 words (including footnotes) should be submitted by 15th May 2019. 

Formal registration for the conference will be possible from mid-May via the conference webpage. Participants will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses.
