About Organiser
Kshitizz NGO is formed by the students of a premier legal institution, Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU), Visakhapatnam. It was created out of ambition and curiosity among the students to change the world. The NGO aims to provide a platform for all to join hands and create a better society- a society which is clean, green, and progressive and has adequate facilities for public health and education. The organization strives to achieve the seventeen sustainable development goals set by the United Nations (UN).The NGO has been created with a vision to have the participation of all those who are interested in making a change, who are concerned about the happenings around them. They want to do something and contribute towards the society at large. People so involved have varied areas of interest and have hence taken up different activities, based on their personal choices and convictions, under one umbrella. Further, the NGO also encourages voluntary participation in its activities and allows private individuals to join the same to support the cause. The team seeks to protect nature in general and water resources in particular with a view to combat drought-like situations.

Essay Competition
Kshitizz is organizing an essay writing competition for encouraging all the students to show-case their unique writing skills. This competition is set up to encourage budding writers from all parts of India and provide them with professional support in becoming successful.

Essay Topics
1) Strict population control law- "need of the hour".
2) Education should be free.
3) Climate change
4) Unemployment "a concern for government and the youngest country in the world"
5) Democracy in India
6) Urbanization
7) Caste system in India :A burden too heavy to bear

Eligibility
1.   All undergraduate and postgraduate students from recognized Colleges/Universities are eligible to participate in the competition.
2.     Only one submission per author will be accepted. Multiple or incomplete submissions would lead to disqualification.
3.     The essay may be co-authored, with a maximum of two people only.

Submission Guidelines
1.     All essays must be in English only.
2.     The essay should not exceed 2000 words (exclusive of footnotes).
3.     A uniform method of citation should be used.
4.     The essay should be accompanied by an abstract of about 250 words.
5.    The essay must be typed in Times New Roman, Font size-12, Spacing-1.5, Alignment- justified and the footnotes must be in Times New Roman, Font size-10, single spaced, Alignment- justified.
6.     All essays must be mailed to [email protected], on or before 20th March, 2020.

Registration
All participants have to register themselves with the required registration fee of Rs. 51/- only, on or before 29 February 2020. The co-authors will have to register themselves separately.

Important Dates
Last date for Registration: 29th February 2020.
Last date for submission of the essay: 20th March 2020.
Date for result declaration: 25th March 2020.

Prize Money and Certificates
First prize: Rs.1100.
Second prize: Rs.501.
Third prize: Rs.251.
2 consolation prizes: Rs.151.
Note: Certificates shall be issued to all the participants and the best 20 entries  would get a membership of the NGO for a period of 1 year (along-with certificate).
