About Journal

Published in partnership with Oxford University Press, Comparative Politics is a series for scholars and students of political science. It focuses on contemporary government and politics, with a particular interest in the comparative domestic politics of political institutions and behaviour. Global in scope, books in the series are characterised by a stress on comparative analysis and strong methodological rigour. Since the launch of the series in 1990 some of the most influential books in political science of the last twenty years have been published within it.

Current editors of the series are Ferdinand Müller-Rommel (University of Luneburg), Susan E Scarrow(University of Houston), and Emilie van Haute (Université libre de Bruxelles).

About the role

Working together, alongside the Series Publisher at Oxford University Press, the role of the co-editors is to:

Use their contacts in the wider political science community to discover suitable manuscripts for the series. The co-editors are expected to be proactive in this regard.
Evaluate the academic quality of such manuscripts and unsolicited manuscripts submitted to the series. This includes working with OUP to select appropriate referees to provide evaluation reports.
Advise authors of accepted manuscripts on improvements and changes to be made for the final version.
Work closely with OUP and ECPR to further the development of the series as a major venue for publication of the best work in comparative politics.

The successful candidate must come from an ECPR Member or Associate Member institution (or an institution committed to joining the ECPR at least for the duration of the Editorship). They will receive an annual editorial fee and a fund to cover travel expenses incurred in attending meetings related to the journal.

The role is for six years, starting 1 April 2019, with a review by ECPR's Publications Subcommittee at the mid-point.
