ABOUT THE SEMINAR

the Fourth Undergraduate Research Conference on Liberal Arts and Humanities will be held on 3rd and 4th of April, 2020 at the O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat. This marks the continuation of the success of our conferences from 2017-2019.The world today is characterized by a questioning and distrust of established institutions. Manipulating data, ignoring facts, hypocrisy in leadership, and self-aggrandizing politics is obstructing serious engagement with pivotal contemporary issues. This puts a strain on civil society and institutional frameworks designed to promote human capabilities, and necessitates a dramatic reorganization of social receptivity to new ideas.

Themes related to liberal arts, humanities, earth and environmental sciences, and different forms of expressive arts are welcome.

Conference Registration/Travel Allowances:

There is no registration fee. O.P. Jindal Global University will provide housing and local transport to students within Delhi- NCR. Limited travel assistance to presenters coming from outside Delhi-NCR region will be provided.

The Venue of the Conference will be O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat, Haryana.

Format:

Presentations will mainly take one of three forms: oral, poster and exhibits (mentioned below).

Oral : 15 minutes; using MS PowerPoint (or any visual media)

Poster : 60" x 36" standee

Expressive Arts : Visual exhibits

Selection Criteria (abstracts):

Interested students are required to submit an abstract (not more than 300 words to the co-organizers at

[email protected] before 7th February 2020. Accepted abstracts will be notified by 15th February 2020.

Art Exhibition:

A very important part of the Conference will be an Art Exhibition for students who are interested in taking up expressive arts as careers. Those who wish to participate in the Exhibition must submit a short representative section of their portfolio in audio/video/text form.
